Brief in · hundreds of pages out

Catalogs and price lists that never break — brief in, hundreds of pages out.

MergeCast is a hosted, maintained replacement for fragile InDesign Data Merge. You send a brief and a data source; we render every variant, every page, every refresh — and own the layout so it doesn't break the night before print.

Every run is validated before it reaches you. If a record can't fit the template, you get a flagged exception — never a silently broken page. Reference figure across pilots.

Why teams switch

The merge file that used to break is now someone else's job.

Data Merge is powerful until a SKU has no image, a price field is blank, or a designer touches the master. MergeCast removes the fragility and the single-person dependency.

Hundreds of variants, one brief

Languages, regions, currencies, channel-specific price lists — generated from a single maintained template and your live data source.

Validated before you see it

Missing image? Overflowing field? You get a flagged exception report, not a broken page discovered at the printer at 11pm.

Maintained, not abandoned

When Adobe ships an update or your data schema changes, we keep the template working. No more "the one person who knew the file left."

The problem with Data Merge

Your catalog process is one blank field away from a fire drill.

01 / FRAGILE

One edit breaks everything

A nudged text frame or a renamed data column silently corrupts hundreds of records. Nobody notices until proof.

02 / SINGLE POINT

It lives in one person's head

The merge file is tribal knowledge. When that designer is on leave, the seasonal catalog stalls.

03 / SLOW

Every refresh is manual

New pricing means re-running, re-checking and re-exporting by hand. Multiply by every region and channel.

MergeCast doesn't sell magic — it sells a maintained pipeline so these three failure modes stop being your team's problem.

Scope estimator

How big is your merge, really?

Drag the sliders to size your catalog. This is the volume MergeCast renders on every run — and the hand-build effort it removes from your team. (Illustrative arithmetic, not a quote.)

Common questions

The short version.

Do I have to give up InDesign?

No. MergeCast handles the data-merge step — the repetitive, breakable part. Your team keeps full creative control over the master template; we maintain the production pipeline behind it.

What does "won't break" actually mean?

Every run is validated before delivery. If a record can't fit the template — missing image, overflowing field, bad price — you get a flagged exception to fix, never a silently corrupted page. That validation gate is the SLA.

How do you get my data?

CSV/Excel upload, a Google Sheet, or a direct connection to your PIM/ERP on higher tiers. We map your fields once during onboarding, then every refresh reuses that mapping.

Is this a tool I learn, or a service you run?

Both, by tier. Starter and Growth are largely done-for-you. Scale and Enterprise add a self-serve dashboard and API so your team can trigger runs directly.
